DO I HAVE THE RESTLESS LEGS SYNDROME?
A diagnosis of restless legs syndrome is made if the following 5 criteria are met:
1. A discomfort in the legs that results in an overwhelming urge to move the legs.
2. Symptoms worsen when resting such as sitting or lying down.
3. Symptoms improve with movement such as walking or stretching.
4. Symptoms are worse in the evening or night.
5. The symptoms cannot be solely attributed to another medical condition for example leg cramps, positional discomfort or arthritis.
